Proud and thankful to be mentioned by Prof. Vivian Nutton in his latest publication: www.amazon.com/Principles-according-Vesalius-Routledge-Translations-ebook/dp/B06XDC36HB.

He died on the return journey from Jerusalem on the beach of the Greek island of Zakynthos, but the details of what exactly happened there are shrouded in mystery. Some say he died in a shipwreck, while others speculate that the cause of death was an illness like scurvy, i.e. vitamin C deficiency (Plessas, 2014). His body was buried in the Catholic Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, an edifice that was later on destroyed by several earthquakes. In recent years, there have been several attempts, until now completely fruitless, to identify his lost grave (Dirix, 2014).

It has been also a great excitement to co-organise and co-present with Theo Dirix, Consul at the Belgian Embassy of Athens (since 2015 in the Embassy of Copenhagen, Denmark), a multi-dimensional event that took place in Andreas Syggros Museum of Athens, to celebrate the 500th Birthday of Andreas Vesalius, the great Flemish anatomist and artist that died on Zakynthos. At this event, MEDinART gained a lot of publicity in the medical community in Greece and the response from the society of anatomists and dermatologists was very warm.

From one of it's latest issues (6 June 2016?), it seems that a local newspaper in Zakynthos, ''Ελεύθερη άποψη'',  accuses me of being disrespectful to Saint Dionysios of Zakynthos. The newspaper is shocked by my presumption of the natural mummification of their Patron Saint, (and of Saint Spyridon of Corfu and Saint Gerasimus of Kefalonia, for that matter). The article defends the supernatural incorruptibility or the belief that a divine intervention is preventing the decay of the bodies of certain saints.
